KARACHI, Oct 17: The Industrial Relations Advisers Association Karachi has urged the authorities to get the proposed labour laws passed through the parliament.

In a letter to the President Pervez Musharraf the IRAAK secretary general M. Rafiq Malik Advocate said that the labour related laws etc were very important legislation so these should be presented in the parliament so that the legislators could discuss and if necessary further improve these, before these were made laws.

He has also urged the newly elected legislators to ensure that this ordinance was not promulgated, and make sure that it was presented in the parliament.

He said that the labour related laws be discussed with the IRAAK members. He said that the IRAAK, which was set up in 1971, was affiliated with the Geneva based IRAA which is associated with the ILO.
