KARACHI, Oct 16: Nazim Naimatullah Khan has expressed concern over the bombing incidents in Karachi and termed them an organized act of terrorism against the city.

The Nazim said this while visiting the injured of bomb blasts at Jinnah hospital here on Wednesday.

He maintained that external hands in such incidents cannot be ruled out as these acts of cowardice are aimed at disturbing conducive and investment-friendly environment prevailing in the city.

He, however, expressed confidence that this environment of progress would continue.

The Nazim said investigation will be conducted in Wednesday’s bombings and those responsible for this gruesome act will be brought to justice. He vowed that those threatening lives of innocent people will not be spared.

Governor Mohammedmian Soomro, expressing his deep grief and concern over the parcel bomb blasts in city on Wednesday, directed absolute care and medical support for the injured.

In a statement, the governor said elements responsible for these blasts and those attempting to disturb, would be sternly dealt with.

He called upon the police authorities as well as the law enforcement agencies to accelerate their efforts for preventing such instances and also to apprehend the culprits.

The governor called for concerted efforts for protection of public life and property. He said provincial government through public support would continue with its efforts against terrorism.

Sindh Chief Secretary K.B. Rind has expressed his deep grief over the injuries caused to five persons in parcel bomb explosions in the offices of DIG Operation Karachi, Deputy Secretary Home, Tughlaq House and CID Civil Lines.

He directed the Home Secretary and IG Police Sindh to adopt effective security measures in the backdrop of these acts of sabotage.

The chief secretary visited the affected offices and extended encouragement to concerned officials and staff and told them not to get harassed. The chief secretary also ordered postage scanning in all government offices.—PPI/PPI
