Exporter’s hopes

Published October 16, 2002

LAHORE, Oct 15: The Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) has expressed the hope that the new government will expedite the process of sales tax refund and revise the duty drawback rates to the original level.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, PRGMEA chairman Pervez Hanif said the new government would also remove all bureaucratic hurdles hampering growth of export-oriented industries.

He said the new setup must ensure that deduction of all sorts of taxes and levies were made at source to protect the exporters as well as other businessmen from undue hassles.
