PARACHINAR, April 5: A ‘commander’ of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and his bodyguard were killed and two civilians injured in Kurram Agency on Tuesday. According to sources, gunmen opened fire on Noor Mohammad Khuwaidadkhel and his guard Fazl Mahmood at a weekly festival in Baggun village. Both died on the spot.

The assailants also opened fire on people trying to catch them after the incident, injuring two of them. Witnesses said the attackers managed to flee in a vehicle with tinted windows.

Noor Mohammad was an important member of the TTP and its slain leader Baitullah Mehsud had appointed him as his deputy in Kurram Agency.

The sources said a militant outfit led by ‘Commander’ Sattar had rivalry with the Noor Mohammad group. —Correspondent
