KARACHI, Oct 14: The provincial leaders of the National Awami Party Pakistan (NAPP) have urged prominent Pakhtoon leaders Khan Abdul Wali Khan and Ajmal Khan Khattak to shun their petty differences and devote their energy for the unity of Pakhtoon nationalists.

In a joint statement, the NAPP Provincial Chief Amin Khattak and Secretary General Hukam Khan Jadoon said the disunity in the ranks of the nationalists paved the way for the victory of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.

The time had come for all the forces working for the cause of Pakhtoon nationalism to shun their petty ideological and political differences for the greater interests of the Pakhtoons, they pointed out.

They said all factions of Pakhtoon nationalists must think over the situation that resulted in the defeat of nationalist forces in Balochistan and the NWFP.

They also wanted to take the leadership of Balochistan, including Mehmood Khan Achakzai, into confidence and discuss a new strategy to face the situation.

The NAPP leaders said it is evident that Islamabad will be blessed with dollars, while the people of the NWFP will get bombs. They proposed that a national conference be called to discuss the basic causes of defeat, so a new policy can be adopted for the future course of action.

The Sindh NAPP leaders said, that “one thing is clear; we have to pay a heavy price because of our disunity.”
