NOWSHERA, Oct 13: Former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has assured the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal of unconditional support and cooperation in the formation of government as well as in the parliament.

The ex-PM contacted the vice-president of MMA and Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, on telephone from Saudi Arabia on Sunday and felicitated him on the strong electoral showing by the religious parties’ alliance.

They exchanged views about the current political situation in the country and discussed matters like the formation of future governments at the Centre and in the provinces.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad left Nowshera for Islamabad in the afternoon, where a meeting of the MMA members-elect had been convened for Tuesday.

It may be mentioned that PPP’s Makhdoom Amin Fahim, National Alliance leader and Millat Party chief, Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari and ex-CM and leader of PML (N), Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, have also made contacts with Qazi Hussain Ahmad on telephone.
