PESHAWAR, Oct 13: The NWFP governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has felicitated the newly-elected members of National and NWFP Assemblies.

In messages sent to the MNAs and MPAs-elect, the governor hoped that they would utilize all their abilities to boost Pakistan’s prestige, strengthen democracy, and foster good governance.

Besides, the governor hoped, they would protect the rights of the people, uphold merit and justice. The winners, he said, should exercise tolerance, and the losers should accept the results generously.

“Let us forget the past and welcome the future, where we have to work in an atmosphere of love, tolerance and brotherhood for the development and progress of our province and the country,” he said.

The governor expressed satisfaction over the smooth, fair and peaceful conduct of elections in the province and Fata, saying that the government and the administration had proved their firm commitment to real and genuine democracy.—Bureau
