
SUKKUR: Sindh Minister for Irrigation Jam Saifullah Dharejo said the federal government would soon release Rs 2.5 billion for the renovation and repair of the dykes damaged by the recent floods.
Speaking during the inspection of repair work of dykes in Thatta, the minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari had provided Rs 5 billion for re-strengthening of the damaged dykes adding that around 40 important schemes of re-strengthening sites of damaged embankments had been carried out.
The minister said that the Sindh government had released Rs 1 billion and the federal government would soon provide Rs 2.5 billions in this regard.
