‘Police informer’ shot dead

OKARA, Oct 12: Two gunmen allegedly shot dead a man on suspicion of being a police informer in Haveli Lakha on Saturday.

Accused Hasan and Latif suspected that Yasin informed police about their illegal activities. Yasin was sitting in the dera of Tufail when they shot him dead.

Haveli Lakha police have registered a case on the report of his wife Zubaida.

FRAUD: Two men deprived the family of a clerk of DCO office of Rs7,000 in Gogera Khas village.

Clerk Anwar told police that one Jamil along with an unidentified man went his house in his absence and told them that he was arrested by the anti-corruption staff. He told them that Anwar has asked them to fetch Rs7,000 from his house. He disappeared with the amount.

Police have registered a case.
