BADIN: 30 activists booked

BADIN, Oct 12: The Pangrio police have registered two separate cases against 30 people including agents of PPP candidates under various sections of the law.

According to police reports, some activists barged into the Abdul Hussain Nizamani polling station of PS-57 and tore ballot papers.

An FIR under section 337, 353, 147, and 148-H/2 has been registered against 30 people including Ghulam Mohammad alias Dilbar Khwaja, Niaz Bhurgari, Munawwar, Mauledino, Ali Ahmed, and Farman Ali on the complaint by the presiding officer, Mushtaq Gurgaiz.

The presiding officer has alleged that Dilbar Khwaja and the others snatched the ballot papers and tore them.

He further alleged that after maltreating the polling staff they resorted to aerial firing.

In another FIR 89/02 registered under section 147, 148, 149, 171, 324, and 506/2 PPC against the same people on the complaint of a villager, Sajjan Samejo, an agent of NA candidate, Mohammad Akram Nizamani, for harassing him and creating disturbance.

Police have arrested the accused and put some of them in the Pangrio lockup and some in the Badin lockup.

PPP: Haji Abdul Karim Bhurgari, PPP candidate for PS-57, while addressing a press conference on Friday, has condemned the police action claiming that the cases against the PPP activists had been registered on the instigation of his rival candidate, Ali Bukhsh Shah alias Papoo Shah.
