RAWALPINDI, March 19: A four-year old girl was killed on Saturday as two fleeing robbers fired at the people chasing them after they looted a house in broad day light, police said.

The killing led to protest by the residents of the Railway Workshop Road. The protesters blocked the busy road leading to Raja Bazaar and demanded arrest of the killers.

Two armed men entered the house of Ghulam Hussain on the Railway Workshop Road and took away valuables at gunpoint. As the robbers were fleeing on foot, the women of the house raised alarm, catching the attention of the people outside. As the people chased the robbers, they started firing, killing Laiba Bibi. The robbers succeeded in fleeing away. The body of Laiba Bibi was handed over to police after postmortem, police said.
