KARACHI, Mar 7: A son of a former senator from tribal area and the city's leading transporter was gunned down in Gulshan-i-Iqbal area on Monday night.

Police said Roedad Khan was going home in his jeep when two armed men on a motorbike intercepted the vehicle and opened fire.

According to Inspector Kanson Dean, SHO of the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station, “Mr Khan was hit by three bullets and died on the spot while his driver suffered a bullet wound and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.”

Mr Khan, who hailed from South Waziristan, lived in Sohrab Goth and also owned a showroom in Shershah area. His father Sakhi Jan was elected senator in 1994 from Fata for a six-year term.
