KARACHI, March 7: A senior staff member of Dawn was robbed in Saddar on Monday, police said. They said an armed motorcyclist took away cash, a cellphone and some official documents from Tahir Siddiqui, a senior reporter for Dawn, when he was having food with his family at a roadside outlet on the busy Raja Ghazanfar Ali Road in Saddar.

An official at the Preedy police station said the armed man on a motorbike stopped close to Mr Siddiqui’s car, pulled out a pistol and demanded the cash and cellphone.

“The armed man took a few seconds to complete his job and rode off. A case has been reported to the police station,” added the official.
