ATTOCK, March 4: The blind murder of a teenage couple was resolved by the Jand police here on Friday and it was found out that the young lovers had fallen prey to their own relatives.

The police said that Mohammad Azeem and his wife Nuzhat Shaheen were found murdered in their room on March 1 in Mari village, Jand. The couple was in love with each other and married two years ago against the will of Azeem's family. The police said that the members of Azeem's family showed their complete ignorance about the incident and maintained that they were killed by some unknown people. However the statement could not satisfy the police.

Meanwhile, Zameer Begum, mother of the girl lodged a complaint with the Jand police which started investigation. The preliminary interrogation revealed that Azeem's family was not happy with the marriage and his brother Khalilur Rehman tried to poison Nuzhat some days before the incident but she survived as her mother instantly had taken her to the hospital. Later Zameer Begum brought Nuzhat to her home and informed Mr Azeem about the incident. However, Khalilur Rehman with the help of some of the relatives reconciled with his brother and no legal action could be initiated against him.

The ill-fated couple was coming home on Feb 28 late night when they were allegedly ambushed by Khailur Rehman and his two friends Muhammad Nasir and Adeel Khan, police maintained. As a result, the couple died on the scene.

Later, the alleged killers transported the bodies to home to manipulate the facts. The investigation officer SI Ahmed Khan after thorough investigations revealed the whole truth and arrested Khalilur Rehman, Muhammad Nasir and Adeel Khan.
