KARACHI: Liaqatabad Police arrested eight bookies on Tuesday allegedly betting on a Cricket World Cup match, DawnNews reported.

According to the Liaqatabad Super Market Police the accused were placing bets on a Cricket World Cup match between Sri lanka and Kenya by setting up a stall out on the road in Bengali Para area of Liaqatabad ‘A’ area.

Accused tried to escape when police reached there, however police arrested all involved.

Police investigation was underway to find out about their other associates and network.
