KARACHI, Feb 28: A young man was found shot dead and stuffed in a gunny bag in Ranchhore Line in the early hours of Monday, police said.

They said some area people spotted a suspicious gunny bag in Street 3 of Ranchhore Line near Ghaas Mandi and approached the area police.

“The police found the body of a young man stuffed in a gunny bag,” said an official at the Eidgah police station. “He was hit by four bullets fired from a very close range and we believe that he was killed somewhere else and his body was dumped at this place.”

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital, where the victim was identified as 25-year-old Arsalan Sharif, resident of the Garden area.

“After medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the victim's family, who says Arsalan left home on Sunday afternoon to see a friend and went missing. By the evening, his cellphone had become dead and they approached the area police to report his disappearance,” added the official.

Boy found dead in drain

A six-year-old boy was found dead in a sewage drain in Saeedabad area on Monday, police said.

They added that Mohammad Noman, son of Mohammad Nasir, went missing in the morning and area people found his body in an open nullah close to his home in Sajjan Goth.

“The boy left home to play in the street and it seems that he somehow fell into the nullah,” said an official at the Saeedabab police station.
