KARACHI, Oct 8: Karachi Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that those nations which do not pay attention to education, cannot progress.
He said the city government during the 13 months of its establishment added eight new colleges besides completing the incomplete school buildings.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the Government Boys Degree College.
“A society where education is not universalised, will not progress”, the Nazim said and added that one reason for slow progress of the country was that our educational ration was much low and we would have to focus on education if we want to progress.
Naimatullah Khan pointed out that the city government’s most attention had remained on education. He said when he took over, many of the educational buildings were devoid of doors and windows. There were no bathrooms and even many class rooms were without roof.
“During one year we tried to create a better educational environment and this has been created”.
He said more colleges would be added next year.
