RAWALPINDI, Feb 14: The district health department will start spraying in all the union councils of the district from Thursday.

“All arrangements had been completed to start the campaign on Tuesday but because on Eid Miladun Nabi on the 16th, the department had to announce a new date,” Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal told Dawn on Monday.

He said in February when the mercury rises to 10 degree celsius, mosquitoes, especially Aedes Aegypti (dengue), lay eggs. Therefore it is the best time to spray to destroy the larvae.Mr Gondal said the department had chalked out a comprehensive plan to eliminate dengue virus in the city and launch a month-long campaign.
