HYDERABAD, Feb 14: A case has been registered against PPP MPA Sharjeel Memon, DPO of Thatta Pir Fareed Jan Sarhandi and others in Hatri police station on court orders.

The Districts and Session Judge Hyderabad, Faheem Ahmed Siddiqui, issued such orders here Monday on a complaint regarding a land dispute.

Mrs Aziza Bano Chandio, the complainant, had pleaded before the court that Forest Officers Riaz Shahid Siddiqui and Abdul Qadir, along with others, had forcefully occupied their 350 acres of forest land leased to them by the forest department.

The complainant alleged at the behest of MPA Memon, the DPO arrived at the land and threatened them with dire consequences to dispossess them from the land, according to our Hyderabad staff correspondent.

She has maintained in her plea that the lease of 350 acres land expired on Feb 5, 2011, after which her family submitted an application for renewal of the lease.

The judge also directed the DPO of Hyderabad Munir Ahmed Shaikh to take action against SHO of Hatri Saghir Sangi under section 155 of Police Rules for defying the court orders of taking action against the accused in the FIR.

Forest Officers Riaz Shahid Siddiqui and Abdul Qadir have also been nominated in the FIR. The case has been registered under sections 147, 148, 149, 477 and 511 of the PPC.—APP
