ATTOCK, Feb 12: An absconding Patwari wanted in an illegal land transfer case was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Department here Friday night.

The department said a team led by circle officer Shaukat Shah arrested Ali Asghar in a raid near session chowk, Attock city. He was produced before the court of judicial magistrate on Saturday who gave the accused to the investigators on four days' physical remand.

Mr Shah said a case had been registered against the accused three years back on the complaint of one Malik Shah Nawaz alleging that the accused had transferred 22 kanals of land belonging to a mosque at Kamra Road to a person by manipulating the revenue record when he was working as Patwari at Jassiah Halqa. The accused had at that time obtained bail before arrest which was later cancelled by the court.
