THATTA, Feb 6: Awami Tehrik president Ayaz Latif Palijo said on Sunday that Zulfiqarabad was an anti-Sindh project which would turn the province into a hub of international terrorists.
Addressing an educational conference here, Mr. Palijo said his party would launch a campaign against the project. Pakistan, particularly Sindh, was under threat and people of lower and middle classes of all communities lived in misery, he said.
He praised Mian Nawaz Sharif 'for refusing to be a tool in the hands of the establishment' and said that billions of rupees were being taken out of the country.
He said that the MQM had been in power since 1999 and been using the slogan of revolution to prolong its rule. The party had once again raised the slogan to save its governor, he said.
Mr Palijo said that the governor had been holding the post for 12 years, more than any president in the country.
He said the Awami Tehrik would contest next elections in alliance with nationalist parties.
