Pakistan Open from Dec 26

KARACHI, Oct 5: Pakistan Open Golf Championship will be held hre during Dec 26-29 at Karachi Golf Club with inclusion of Inter-provincial team championship this year, member Executive Committee Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) and secretary Sindh Golf Association Asad I.A. Khan said Saturday.

He said decision to this effect was taken in PGF Executive Committee meeting in Islamabad.

It will be first time that Inter-provincial team vhampionship has been merged into Pakistan Open Golf Championship. Earlier Inter- provincial team championship was included in National Golf Championship.

He said in order to promote junior golf in the country PGF decided that children of clubs members across the country under-18 would be permitted to play for seven days in a month without paying any fees.

He said 3rd Sindh Amateur Golf Championship scheduled for second week of October here has been postponed due to clash of dates with All-Pakistan Garrison Open Golf Championship being held on same dates in Lahore.

New schedule of 3rd Sindh Amateur Golf Championship would be announced later.—PPI
