RAWALPINDI, Oct 5: The People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPP) will hold its biggest election rally in Liaquat Bagh on Sunday at 5pm, said the ex-president of PPP (Punjab), Qazi Sultan, during a press conference on Saturday.

He said the recorded message of Benazir Bhutto would also be aired on the occasion.

The PPP president, Makhdoom Amin Faheem, secretary-general, Raza Rabbani, along with the local candidates would also speak.

Qazi Sultan said the Liaquat Bagh venue had always been a test case for all the political parties to gauge the public support.

“Despite the backing of government machinery, the National Alliance and PML-Q had to cancel their rallies after realising their weak public support.”

During the press conference, the senior vice-president of PTI, Rawalpindi, Shahzad Butt along with the members Liaqat Shah, Asad-ur-Rehman and some other workers announced their joining of the PPP.
