LAHORE, Feb 1: Two demonstrations were held in the city on Tuesday against the Jan 27 Qartaba Chowk, Mozang, killings.

Relatives and friends of Ibadur Rehman, a motorcyclist crushed to death by a Prado driven allegedly by some foreigners, held a demonstration at Shah Alam Chowk, demanding exemplary punishment for the accused.

They blocked the road by setting old tyres ablaze and threw traffic out of gear for around two hours.

After resorting to sloganeering against the United States government, the demonstrators dispersed on the assurance of some police officers that the suspects would be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, the Islami Jamiat Tulaba staged a demonstration at Mozang Chowk and demanded that Raymond Davis should be hanged at the same place where he killed innocent Pakistanis.

A large number of protesters chanted slogans against the US and Pakistani governments. They burnt tyres and blocked the Mozang Chowk.

VISIT: A team of senior police officers visited Qartaba Chowk where two young men, identified as Faizan Haider and Fahim, were shot dead by Raymond Davis and examined a mock shooting.

The officers also went to the site where Rehman was crushed to death by another vehicle.

AUTOPSY: A senior police official told Dawn on condition of anonymity that autopsy report of the two young men issued by the KEMU found nine bullet wounds on the bodies of Faizan and Fahim.

Quoting the report, he said that Faizan and Fahim sustained two bullet injuries each on their back while the other bullet wounds were on different parts of their bodies.

Faizan died of a bullet injury he received in his abdomen which damaged his liver while a bullet wound in the head caused Fahim’s death, he said.
