BAJAUR, Oct 4: The political administration of Bajaur Agency has provided official escort to the contestants of the Oct 10 general elections, after an attempt on the life of a candidate here the other day, sources say.

The administration has detailed three personnel of the levies force for the security of each candidate of NA-43 and NA-44. The action is taken on the joint application of the candidates, the sources say.

A high official told Dawn on Friday that the political administration had taken responsibility for the security of the candidates. However, he said the aspirants had also been advised to avoid going to the far-flung parts of the agency after the sunset.

The administration had also warned them against hiring the private security guards, the official said.
