LARKANA, Oct 4: Seven women and children from Jawabpur village in Shikarpur observed hunger strike in Jinnahbagh on Thursday.

They were protesting against the police officials’ apathy over the killing of three villagers, who were killed after bandits attacked their village recently.

They expressed their dismay over the reluctance of the SHO of Dakan police station regarding arrest of the killers.

Rani, Hooran and Zarbabi urged police authorities to take notice of the situation, saying that they and their children were being harassed. They also called for removal of the SHO from his post.

KILLED: A policeman was killed and a DSP was injured after bandits ambushed a police vehicle on Khandoo road near Warah town on Wednesday night.

Policeman Ghulam Ali Totani was killed on the spot.

DSP Warah Ghulam Serwar Bhutto, who had rushed to the scene, was injured after his vehicle was also attacked near Lalorounk town.
