QUETTA, Jan 24: Gas supply to a purification plant of PPL was affected when attackers blew up two pipelines at Sangsilla and Sui in Dera Bugti district on Monday, sources said.

An explosive device placed under a junction line, which links eight gas wells to the plant, was detonated early in the morning.

A 24-inch diameter pipeline was also blown up near Sangsilla which supplies gas to a compressor plant in Sui. Levies Force officials said that a 10-foot portion of the pipeline was damaged, suspending supply to the plant.

The sources said that the Pakistan Petroleum Ltd (PPL) plant was functioning despite suspension of supply from some wells in Sui and Loti fields, though supply to some parts of Sindh and Punjab had been partially affected.
