PESHAWAR, Oct 3: City District Nazim Azam Khan Afridi has directed the authorities concerned to ensure the payment of compensation in a week to the victims of anti-encroachment drive on University Road.

He issued these directives while presiding over a high-level meeting held on Thursday here to review the progress made in connection with the compensation.

The meeting was attended by City District Naib Nazim Dr Iqbal Khalil, SSP Ishtiaq Marwat, Peshawar DCO Tariq Rafique, CD&MD Director-General Malik Saad, district revenue officer, Town-I Nazim Haroon Bilour, Town-II Nazim Mumtaz Khan, Town-III Nazim Yaseen Khalil, Town-IV Nazim, representatives of traders and others.

Mr Afridi assured that all the affectees would be compensated as per the agreement reached between the victims and the government functionaries.
