MIRPURKHAS, Jan 19. People’s Party MNA Mir Munawwar Ali Talpur has said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani are striving to fulfil the mission of Benazir Bhutto who had dreamt of providing basic amenities to the masses.

He was speaking at a ceremony held to mark inauguration of an LPG plant and gas supply system in Kot Ghulam Mohammad on Wednesday.

Mr Talpur said that the plant would provide over 2,000 gas connections in the area. He asked people to pay their gas bills regularly so that the project could be run successfully. The plant has been installed at a cost of Rs300 million.

He announced that he would also try to set up LPG gas plants at Digri, Tando Jan Mohammad, Jhuddo and Samaro towns.

He said that the provincial and federal governments were large amounts of money to provide relief to the flood-affected people despite a shortage of funds.

Managing Director of Sui Southern Gas Company Faizullah Abbasi said that 55 kilometres of pipelines were laid in the area and so far 97 applications for connections had been received from Mirji Landhi and 250 from Kot Ghulam Mohammad.

He said that his company had installed such plants in Gawadar and Noshki and two in Punjab which were running successfully.
