KARACHI, Oct 2: FIA immigration at Karachi Airport arrested five persons, including a woman, travelling on forged travel documents. Javed Mughal, Assistant Director, FIA immigration, said on Wednesday, that out of the five, Sikandar Mehmood was intercepted departing for Manchester on the passport issued in the name of Basharat Mohammad. The passport contained a fake immigration stamp.

The home office stamp, marriage certificate, driving license and registration certificates’ of the UK were also forged. Sikandar disclosed that all the above mentioned documents were arranged through an agent on the payment of Rs150,000.

Wajid Ali was proceeding to Lisbon on a passport issued in the name of Khalid Husain. Nazeer Hussain was travelling for Saudi Arabia on the passport of Ghulam Abbas, who disclosed that he purchased the said passport from an agent on the payment of Rs40,000.

Fareeda Khanum was travelling on a forged Saudi visa which was arranged by an agent, Yousuf Odho, whereas Gul Nabi was trying to slip through on a photo changed passport.

All the persons were detained and referred to the FIA passport cell for further action.—APP
