KARACHI, Oct 1: A brilliant all-round performance by Syed Rehan helped Mirpurkhas gain ascendancy against Badin on the first day of the three-day National Junior (Under-19) Grade-II Cricket Championship match at NBP Sports Complex Tuesday.

Rehan first captured six for 24 with his leg-spinners as Badin were shot out for 89 in their first innings and then slammed an unbeaten 103 in a total of 289 for six.

Karachi Greens, meanwhile, amassed 344 for eight in their allotted quota of 80 overs against Shikarpur at KCCA Stadium. Hasan Saud (76), Shahriyar Farrukh (67) and Akbar-ur-Rehman (54) being the main scorers.

Shikarpur, in reply, were struggling at 27 fir two at stumps.

Sukkur hit back after Hyderabad restricted them to 170 in their first innings at Niaz Stadium. The hosts were 47 for three at draw of stumps.
