KARACHI, Jan 4: Seven ships carrying chemicals, coal and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Thana Bhum, Y. M. Asia, with tankers, Rukia to load cement, and Miami Maiden with coal were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed on Tuesday, included APL Ruby, MOL Sea Breeze, Neelam, m.t. Karachi, and Hyundai Oakland, while Mariner, Tug Strong, Gulf Tiger, Trans Ocean, Thana Bhum, and Alitis are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.112m tons comprising 19,607 tons of export cargo and 92,124 tons of import tonnage was handled on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Lodestar Genesis, with chemicals, Ocean President, with coal, Kota Arif, President Adams, MSC Jemima, Jakarta Express, and S.C.L. Ride, with containers.
