MUNICH (Germany), Sept 29: Former tennis champion Boris Becker must pay 3.2 million euros in back taxes immediately or face jail time, German newsweekly Focus reported in an advance copy of its Monday edition.

Focus said that Becker, 34, would be required to pay the sum before his trial on tax evasion charges begins in the southern German city of Munich on Oct 23.

Only then will the chief prosecutor and judge accept the plea agreement of a two-year suspended jail sentence.—AFP
