Kipkoech, Takahashi win Berlin Marathon

BERLIN, Sept 29: Raymond Kipkoech of Kenya won the Berlin marathon men’s race Sunday with an official time of two hours six minutes 47 seconds.

Fellow Kenyan Simon Biwott finished second in 2:06.49 with Vincent Kipsos, also of Kenya, coming in third with a time of 2:06.52.

Japan’s Olympic champion Naoko Takahashi won the women’s marathon in a time of two hours 21 minutes 49 seconds. Mexico’s Adriana Fernandez was second in 2:24:11 with Kenya’s Hellen Kimutai third in 2:26:10.—Reuters
