Three killed in tribal clash

SHIKARPUR, Sept 29: Three people were killed in an armed clash between two groups of Chandio tribesmen in the Jawabpur Chandio village, Garhi Yasin Taluka, on Saturday night.

A group of 18 armed tribesmen, led by a dacoit, Saroo Chandio, attacked their rivals while they were working in their fields. Soon an armed clash started between both as a result of which three people were killed, one from the attacking group and two from the attacked.

Sardar Chandio was killed from the first group, while Ishaq Chandio and Akhtar Chandio were killed from the second group.

Later, a police party led by the DSP, Garhi Yasin, and the SHO, Dakhan, arrived at the site and brought the situation under control. All three bodies were sent to the Dakhan hospital for an autopsy.

However, nobody was arrested.

PPP ACCUSED: National Alliance and PML(Q)-backed candidates contesting for seats in Shikarpur District have accused the PPP leaders of creating a political crisis and destroying the economy of the country.

Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, candidate for PS-11 (Shikarpur-III), while addressing a public meeting in Shikarpur, claimed that the SDA was the only political alternative and was struggling for restoring the usurped rights of the people of Sindh.

Addressing the public meetings in Shikarpur, Khanpur, and other villages, the NA-backed candidate for PS-12 (Shikarpur-IV) and NA-202 (Shikarpur-I), Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi said that he believed in neat and clean politics.

The PML(Q) candidate for NA-203 (Shikarpur-III) and PS-10 (Shikarpur-II), Ghaus Bux Khan Mehar, while spoke at the public meetings at Madeji, Dakhan, and Garhi Yasin.
