PESHAWAR, Sept 29: Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has said that more than 4,000 teachers, including subject specialists, are being recruited to remove staff shortage in educational institutions throughout the province.

He was talking to a 26-member delegation of Roghani tribe from Upper Dir district and adjoining areas, which was led by minister for health, Dr Mehr Taj Roghani.

He said that the government was considering to offer concessions in the fresh appointments of female teachers, not only to overcome the shortage of staff in girls schools but also to provide job opportunities to women of the backward areas.

On a demand regarding health facilities, the governor said that 18 doctors had been appointment in the district headquarters hospital, Dir, whereas more would be posted shortly, besides the provision of medical equipment worth Rs120 million.

Mr Iftikhar said that the government was committed to fully equip the DHQ hospitals during the current fiscal in order to provide state-of-the-art facilities to the people of the remote areas.

He stressed the members of the delegation to concentrate on the education of their children especially girls and take full benefit of the facilities being provided by the government.
