HYDERABAD, Sept 29:The provincial secretary for Forests, Wildlife, and Environment, Shamsul Haq Memon, has said that the Sindh Government had allocated an amount of Rs40 million to set up a network of nurseries and plants in all the districts of the province.

He was presiding over a meeting of officials of the Forestry Department at the office of the Sindh forestry development project on Saturday.

The meeting reviewed in detail the programme of setting up and promoting nurseries in the province.

He said it will take five years to complete the programme.

He said that the project had been included in the annual development programme, which would go a long way in controlling pollution.

He stressed the need for plantation of trees in the province both at the government and public level, and added that saplings would be provided to the people at cheap rates.

Shamsul Haq Memon urged the officials of the Forest Department to make the people aware about the benefits of tree plantation.
