LAHORE, Dec 28: Car racing on Gulberg Main Boulevard led to a crash opposite Pace on Tuesday night, leaving three youngsters from Garhi Shahu dead.

Police said young men boarding two cars were engaged in racing on the thoroughfare when one of the cars, Honda Civic, went out of the control of its driver, hit another car and the median before rolling for 50 yards. Raja Tahir, Usman and Billi died while their fourth companion was stated to be in critical condition in hospital.

Late night bike and car racing on Main Boulevard has become a regular feature over the years. The road attracts a large number of motorcyclists and car riders on weekends who not only risk their lives but pose a threat to the safety of other motorists and pedestrians.
