MULTAN, Sept 28: Pakistan ‘A’ coasted to a comfortable 51-run victory over their Sri Lankan counterparts in the first one-day match at Multan Cricket Stadium here Saturday.
Sri Lanka ‘A’ were bowled out for 206 in 48 overs despite Michael Vandort’s 86-ball 77. The left-hander hit 11 fours.
For Pakistan spinner Qaiser Abbas was the most successful bowler claiming three wickets for 40 runs.
He was well supported by Nafaj Shah and Junaid Zia who picked up two wickets each for 22 and 41 runs.
Earlier, after being sent in, Pakistan ‘A’ recovered from 83 for three in the 21st over to reach 257 for six.
The highlights of the innings being 122-run partnership between Yasir Hameed and Naved Latif.
Yasir made 70 off 114 balls with just two fours. Naved, by far the more aggressive, dominated the fourth-wicket stand by lashing 89 off only 83 deliveries.
His knock was spiced with 10 fours and three sixes.
