LARKANA, Sept 28: The president of the Pakistan People’s Party (Sindh) Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Friday expressed doubts over the transparency of the upcoming election.

Khuhro was addressing a public meeting in Bhaee Khan Ghangro village near Ratodero in connection with the election campaign of Ayaz Soomro, the PPP candidate from NA-204 (Larkana-I).

He said that the recent whirlwind visits by the Sindh governor and other ministers and announcements of grants were a clear violation of the election commission’s rules.

Earlier, the chief of the Sindh PPP, accompanied by the PPP candidate from NA-207 (Larkana-VII), Anwar Bhutto, held a meeting with the leaders of the local Hindu community.

The Dharamshala’s Hindu community assured the PPP leaders of extending support to the PPP candidates.

The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal’s candidate from NA-207 (Larkana-VII), Khalid Mehmood Soomro, geared up election campaign.

The MMA candidate faces Shahid Bhutto of the PPP.

In another related development, Khalid Iqbal Memon and Ghulam Mujadid Isran, who are contesting from NA-206 (Larkana-III) and PS-39 (Larkana-VII) respectively, alleged the brother of Asghar Shah of running election campaign despite being a government employee.

The PML-N candidate from PS-36 (Larkana-II), Ali Gul Shaikh, has retired in favour of the PPP-SB candidate, Saeed Ahmed Bhutto.

The MMA and the SDA had arrived at a seat adjustment on NA-204 (Larkana-I) and PS-36 (Larkana-II).
