TAXILA, Sept 28: Three persons were killed and one injured when an Edhi ambulance rammed into a truck parked along the roadside near Wah Garden bridge.

According to Wah Cantt police, an Edhi ambulance (KC-1582) was carrying the body of Mohammad Yaqub, who died in the train accident in Sibbi. When it reached near Wah Garden bridge on GT Road, it rammed into a truck (PL-975) parked alongside the road as a result of which three persons, including two sons of the train accident victim, died on the spot while the driver suffered serious injuries.

The injured and the dead were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Taxila. Later, the injured driver was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi due to his critical condition.

Talking to Dawn, an official of the National Highway and Motorway police said the accident occurred because the driver fell asleep.
