PESHAWAR, Sept 28: The Islami Jamiat Talba has asked the government to abolish education task force and form another body to introduce reforms in education sector.

In a press release issued here on Saturday the IJT central president Shahab Hussain proposed to constitute a task force, comprising vice-chancellors of government sector universities, academic staff associations, academicians and students to bring about reforms in primary and higher education.

He asked the government to provide free primary education, ban self-finance scheme in colleges and universities, allocate five per cent of the budget for education and lift ban on student unions.

The press release said that public sector universities were facing financial crisis therefore the government should provide grants to universities.

The IJT president suggested to declare Urdu medium of instruction in schools, colleges and universities.

He said that the privatization of education institutions was leading education sector towards collapse and common people were being deprived of right of education. He urged the government to stop the privatization.
