DERA GHAZI KHAN, Sept 27: Millat Party leader Farooq Leghari’s election meeting in Fort Munro was disrupted on Friday by an angry mob, protesting against the failure of the Leghari tribe chief to secure the release of their two tribesmen arrested by Balochistan police

The former president was escorted to safety by the border military police.

Tribesmen Ramazan and Ghulam Fareed, stated to be bodyguards of Jamal Khan Leghari, were arrested in Rakni, Balochistan, for displaying arms.

As the meeting began, angry tribesmen raised slogans against their chief. Seeing the situation, the BMP police escorted Mr Leghari back to the dera city.

BOOKED: Two brothers of the Dera tehsil nazim were booked by the Border Military police station (Cement Factory area) on Thursday on the charge of beating a BMP official and attacking the police station.

Sources said Ghulam Farid, a PS wireless operator, was thrashed by Nadir Khosa and Bahadur Khosa, two younger brothers of the tehsil nazim.
