World Tourism Day today

RAWALPINDI, Sept 26: The World Tourism Day will be celebrated throughout the world including Pakistan on Friday.

The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) have decided to observe the day in a befitting manner.

Various functions to promote tourism in the country have been arranged by these corporations.

The PTDC with its slogan - Welcome to Pakistan - has arranged a huge function in this regard at a local hotel on the Mall Road.

The corporation has also arranged a photographic exhibition depicting various aspects of scenic beauty and cultural heritage of Pakistan.

The function will include speech contest among students of various schools of Rawalpindi. Speakers, including the managing director of the PTDC, secretary tourism, representatives of the UNDP and Alpine Club of Pakistan, will also express their views on the occasion.

Stalls will be set up to update and guide the tourists. —APP
