BADIN, Sept 26: The Governor Sindh Mohammedmian Soomro on Thursday announced Rs20 million each for development schemes in three talukas in Badin district.

The talukas which will receive the development funds are: Tando Bago, Talhar and Shaheed Fazal Rahu.

The governor was addressing a public gathering at the Mono- technic Institute Ground at Tando Bago.

Earlier, the district Nazim, Kamal Khan Chang, and the taluka Nazim of Tando Bago, Hamid Ali Shah, also spoke on the occasion.

RALLY: The workers of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) took out a rally just before the arrival of the Sindh Governor in Tando Bago town. The protestors tried to reach the venue of the public gathering, which was to be addressed by the Sindh governor.

They were protesting against the transfer of Dr Nazeer Bhurgari and Dr Muneer Bhurgari.

Meanwhile, the police reportedly conducted raids to arrest the persons leading the rally.

Our Nawabshah Correspondent adds: Governor Sindh Mohammedmian Soomro on Thursday announced a Rs45 million grant for the development works of three talukas of Nawabshah district.

The governor also announced Rs5 million for Shahpur Jehanian union council and Rs2.5 million for the shrine of Hazrat Syed Hassan Shah Jehanian.

Soomro was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Urs of Hazrat Syed Hassan Shah Jehanian at Shahpur Jehanian in Doulatpur taluka.

The Sindh Governor was accompanied by the provincial minister for education, Khan Muhammad Dahri, and the Nazim of Sakrand taluka, Javed Rahu.

Zila Nazim Faryal Talpur could not arrive because of illness.

Naib district Nazim Khalid Hussain Channa and taluka Nazim Nawabshah, Ali Akbar Jamali were present on the occasion but were not offered seats on the dais.

Adds our Naushahro Feroze correspondent: The governor, Sindh, Mohammedmian Soomro, has announced Rs50 million as additional grant for the district government, Naushahro Feroze, on Thursday. He said that he would look into the other demands presented by the district government.
