GUJRANWALA, Dec 8: A sessions court bailiff on Wednesday recovered an elderly man locked in a factory room by its owner, allegedly over a monetary dispute, and produced him in the court.

The complainant, Rafiq, in his petition filed in the sessions court, pleaded a plastic pots factory owner, Sadiq, had confined his father Saleem, 58, illegally in a factory room for the last many days.

On the orders of Additional District and Sessions Judge Anwar Ahmad Qureshi, a bailiff, Qaiser Mehmood, raided the factory and recovered the old man from a room and produced him in the court.

It was stated the factory owner had a monetary dispute with the elderly man.

The court summoned factory owner on Thursday (today).

HUMAN TRAFFICKERS: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two alleged human agents in a raid and recovered several passports and other documents from their possession.

On a tip off, an agency team led by Inspector Muhammad Hanif reportedly raided a house in Sambrial, Sialkot district, and arrested Raja Sajjad Ahmad and Ghulfam Ahmad.

FIA Deputy Director Shahid Husain said the accused were wanted by the agency in a dozen cases of human trafficking. They allegedly sent scores of people to Greece and other countries of Europe after extorting hefty sums from them. He said most of these people were later deported by the countries they had been trafficked to.

GANG BUSTED: Police claimed on Wednesday to have busted a four-member gang of robbers in a raid and recovered looted goods and arms from their possession.

Talking to journalists, city police Superintendent Rai Ijaz Ahmad said the accused Abdul Ghaffar (ringleader), Awais Ahmad, Javed Iqbal and Muhammad Zubair looted many people, including a flour mill owner and factory workers, at gun point.

He said a police team led by Dhulley SHO Inspector Obaid Ullah Khan raided the hideout of the accused were they were to get their share in the looted goods, and arrested them. A pistol and two revolvers were also recovered from the accused, he added.

DIG Tariq Masood Yasin announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the members of the raiding team.
