Redevelopment plan of G-6 Sector okayed

Published September 26, 2002

ISLAMABAD, Sept 25: The federal cabinet on Wednesday approved in principle the redevelopment plan of G-6 Sector and directed the CDA to complete the project in a span of six to eight years.

According to an official statement, President Gen Pervez Musharraf had directed the authorities concerned to offer the apartments, to be built by the CDA under the redevelopment plan, for sale to the present occupants on easy instalments.

It may be recalled here that the federal government has decided to build 208 multi-storied flats after demolishing the existing 3,956 housing units in G-6 Sector.

Under the redevelopment plan, the government will hand over the vacated land to the private sector investor free of cost which in turn will carry out the development work at the site.
