Tehsil council demanded

ABBOTTABAD, Oct 8: All 46 Naib Nazims of Abbottabad district in a unanimous resolution demanded of the government to establish of tehsil council in addition to the district assembly.

The Abbottabad district which covers the five provincial and two national assembly seats is the largest, in terms of population and area.

A joint meeting of the Naib Nazims of the 46 union councils was held at Abbottabad presided over by Humayun Khan Naib Nazim of Mir Pur Union Council.

All the elected Naib Nazims of the union councils said that they were unable to serve their voters as their role defined in the local bodies ordinance is linked to the formation of tehsil union council.

A committee in this regard was formed under the presidentship of Humayun Khan Naib Nazim of Mir Pur Union Council.

Other office bearers were Khursheed Muhammad Awan (Kehal Union Council) Sardar Maqboo-ur-Rehman (Nathiagali Union Council), Ibrar Siddqiue( City Union Council), Haji Muhammad Nazeer (Urban Union Council) while in the executive committee, Said Shah, Javed Khan, Shah Mehr, Javed Khan Tanoli, Haq Nawaz, Sultan Ahmed, Basheer Abbasi and Mushtaq Ahmed Advocate.
