KCCA Whites clinch trophy

KARACHI, Sept 24; KCCA Whites won the final of Pakistan Sindh Inter District League cricket tournament after beating their Junior string KCCA Green by a big margin of 98 runs Monday at Quaid- e-Azam Park Cricket Stadium Steel Town.

The highlights of the final were fine batting by Jaffer Qureshi 58, M. Imran 53 and good bowling by Rizwan Qureshi and Mansoor Ahmed who captured four wickets each for 30 and 24 runs.

KCCA Whites batting first after winning the toss piled-up 257 for nine in allotted 50 overs through breezy batting by Ashfaq Shafi 60 with five fours and two sixes, Jafer Qureshi 58 with six boundaries and two sixes, Atif Raza 29, Mansoor Baig 22, Left arm leg spinner Rizwan Qureshi captured four wickets for 30.

In reply KCCA Green managed only 168 for nine in 50 overs. M. Imran batted well for his 53 that contained six fours. Imran Ali 32 and Rashid Ali 19 chipped in with useful scores. Mansoor Ahmed bowled well and took grabbed four for 24. He was well supported by Rizwan Saeed and Anees Shaikh who claimed two wickets each for 41 and 24 runs.

Jaffer Qureshi and Mansoor Ahmed were declared Joint Man of the Final.
