Al-Jihad chief joins PAT

LAHORE, Sept 23: Al-Jihad organization chief and a candidate from NA-120 Iffatullah Sheikh on Monday joined the Pakistan Awami Tehrik.

He told reporters on the occasion that he had found that PAT chairman Tahirul Qadri, unlike other politicians, did not have hunger for publicity and was serious about working for the masses.

Moreover, he said the party was struggling to end political feudalism from the country.

PAT chief organizer Iqbal Awan told a questioner that Iftikhar Kilcha, party’s deputy secretary-general, who had joined the PML-QA on Sunday, was not active in his constituency PP-154.

When Dr Qadri, on workers’ complaints, asked Mr Kilcha to give time to the area and also spent money on electioneering, he minded it and left the party.

He said Mr Kilcha’s replacement would be finalized within a couple of days as talks were being held with different parties whose candidates were taking part in the polls from there.
